How might school leaders engage in actions that positively influence student learning? Principals engage in many leadership roles. What could some aspects of being an instructional leader as a Principal entail?

Converse with colleagues about the four paths of Ken Leithwood’s Theory of Action through viewing a video clip, examination of an article and through conversation with colleagues. Bring your questions, wonderings and observations.

Barrie Breakouts – Identified ‘Problems of Practice’ and Ensuing Dialogue

Prior to the regional Barrie SIM meeting, School Effectiveness Leads asked each member of their SIM team to pose a ‘problem of practice’ within pre-selected headings. These are shared within the submitted Problems of Practice – Barrie Region, Fall 2012.

During the breakout sessions, team members moved in to cross-district small groups to dialogue about these problems of practice. Transcripts from shared thinking in breakouts about problems of practice, Barrie Regional SIM session, Fall 2012 are posted.
